Dr. David Weiss, Founder and Veterinarian
Dr. Weiss grew up in Somerset NJ. He attended Rutgers College of Pharmacy earning his degree in 1987. After working many years as a pharmacist, Dr. Weiss decided to change careers by attending Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine & the University Of Minnesota Veterinary College graduating in 2005.
Being a house call vet for many areas of medicine is now his passion. As owner of Furry Friends Mobile Vet, He looks forward to being your furry friend’s personal veterinarian.
Dr. Katie Koehler, Veterinarian
Dr. Katie Koehler is a New Jersey native who grew up in Toms River. She attended Virginia Tech University where she completed her Bachelor of Sciences in Biology & Psychology. After graduation, Dr. Koehler traveled to sunny California where she earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Koehler then worked in several small animal practices before joining us here at Furry Friends Mobile Vet. She currently resides in Toms River with her husband, two children, two Siberian huskies, and a ragdoll cat. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her family, skiing in the wintertime, and trying to stay fit with kickboxing.
Dr. Lindsay Miranda, Veterinarian
Dr. Miranda grew up in Toms River, NJ with her parents and sisters. She graduated from Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Medicine. She earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois and had been practicing in several small animal hospitals in New Jersey before joining Furry Friends.
She has one small-bodied, large-personality Jack Russell mix named Mochi and a Persian mix cat named Annie who acts like a dog. When not working, Dr. Miranda enjoys spending time with her nieces, playing tennis, baking, and trying out as many new restaurants as possible.
Dr. Michael Spataro, Veterinarian
Dr. Michael J. Spataro, founder of the Cat Hospital of Ocean County, received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tampa, Florida in 1980. He attended the Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine where he graduated with distinction in 1986. Dr. Spataro grew up in northern New Jersey and enjoys boating, fishing, surfing and just hanging out with his family. He worked at several small animal hospitals following graduation, then in 1992 he pursued his dream of owning a feline-only practice. He enjoys interacting with clients and their furry feline friends
Dr. Jennifer Vourlos , Veterinarian
Dr. Vourlos grew up in Staten Island, New York. She attended Cornell University where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Animal Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Tufts University and had been practicing in both shelter medicine and private practice before joining Furry Friends Mobile Vet. She currently resides in Monmouth County with her husband, a Havanese named Rosie, and two Birman cats named Annabelle and Maddie.
